His corporate career included strategic and functional assignments in sales, marketing and general business management. His experience and knowledge were widely recognised and valued as he shifted into his consulting and people development role and in 2001 to personal and team coaching. In the mid 1990s he led people change and development initiatives as director of motor industry consultancy Carter & Carter. There he developed and led programmes and the operational relationships with BMW, Rover, Toyota, Rolls Royce/Bentley and Renault.
